Inspired by scientific experiment, Portugal based designer David Mateus created this unusual coffee maker “cafe balao” which looks to be straight out of a laboratory. Made from two, delicate blown-glass flask incorporated with an electric heater at its base, the transparent system allows the user to visualize the brewing procedure. Moreover, it makes makes an entire pot 3 times as fast than than an alcohol-fueled machine. I can imagine this peculiar science-lab aesthetic will be a great gift for either serious or casual coffee drinkers. It is just cool to look and fun to play/brew. However, there is no information of its market data.
