Graphic design firm Dowling Duncan created a remarkable entry for the Dollar ReDe$ign Project. The series of notes are intended to be both educational and easy to use. Each note uses a black and white image depicting a particular aspect of American history and culture. They are then overprinted with informational graphics or a pattern relating to that particular image.

Lots of people are worrying about our environment, human relationship, health, and etc., They try to get their message passed to the public, and to arise the public awareness of the importance of protecting the nature, stop war, quit smoking, save energy…They rely heavily on advertisement. In this post we have collected here are some of the most powerful and eye-catching public interest ads, which are all creative and well executed, and the message is clear and touching.
What is your first impression of a shampoo ads? Beautiful women with long, shining and smoothly hair? 80% shampoo ads ends up like this. However, there are still some unusual and creative work which Pantene is a good example. I am not saying it has better shampoo, but Pantene does put some extra effort to make its ads more attractive, impressive and eye-catching.
Pantene – Dandruff Salt Shaker
It may force you to lose your appetite, but this campaign by Pantene sure is effective. Salt shakers, in the design of a woman’s head, were placed in bars, restaurants, and canteens. When shaken, salt crystals trickle out in the shape of dandruff. Check, please!
Gravity, plays an interesting role in this series by Japanese collective Nam who create one of the most exciting bodies of work I’ve seen for a very long time. In their own words, “We generally make images with a fantastic atmosphere”, which I couldn’t agree more.
