Artist Christopher Locke takes scissors that were confiscated by the TSA at airport security checkpoints and turns them into these awesome spider sculptures. Although the TSA website says scissors with blades less than four inches are allowed on airplanes, the individual officers conducting the screening have the authority to confiscate anything they think could be used as a weapon. As a result, hundreds of pairs of scissors are confiscated daily at American airports. Sculptor Christopher Locke has capitalized on this endless supply of in-flight contraband by welding the scissors into pretty terrifying spiders that look like something out of a Tim Burton or Brothers Quay film. We have to say, these are awesome but terrifying creation.  [source]
