Volet végétal, is a creative pulley system designed for anyone who lives in an apartment and want a nice little gardening space. Created by French designers Nicolas Barreau and Jules Charbonnet of Barreau & Charbonnet, this window unit can be installed outside of window and allows urban gardeners to lower their plants into direct sunlight.
When the unit is placed in vertical position, the unit sits directly within a window frame which creates a shutter of light and a filter for green air. When it’s time for some sunshine, the plant-owner pulls the cord system to lower the unit into a horizontal position. At the meantime, the frame holds planter rotate accordingly to keep the planter from falling. Pretty smart design right?
