The latest trend to send the internet into hysteria are cinemagraphs – the cleverly designed GIF files that bring a still image to life. The images are seen on a continuous motion, but include a small video on a loop to make a part of the picture move. Many of these creations have gone viral, due to their popularity on social media sites like Buzzfeed and Facebook. Cinemagraphs can range from anything, be it an iconic film scene or a bit of cookery in the kitchen.

The perfect piece of street graffiti to turn into a cinemagraph. The hamster is drawn on a stop sign, making it as if it is in a wheel. With the rest of the street setting frozen, the hamster moves in a running movement.

Ruby: Reincarnation Story in 75 Seconds Stop Motion Video

Ruby is a jaw-dropping time-lapse video, created by London-based body artist Emma Allen, exploring the idea of rebirth and illustrating the transfer of energy from one incarnation to another. To make this 75 seconds video, Allen uses her face as a canvas, painting and photographing her own face over a period of five days. In the video, Allen just ages in front of you and progress from a skeleton to flowers until finally she becomes a leopard. Even though the decay parts is a bit grizzly but it is truly amazing work and worth watching for sure.

Tissue Paper Animal in Life: Creative Stop Motion for Japanese Paper Company

This unbelievable stop motion was created by Japanese ad agency Dentsu for Japanese paper manufacturer Nepia, which featuring a cavalcade of animals folding directly from tissue paper. Nepia tries to show their dedication to creating sustainable forests by giving lives of forest animals using tissue paper. Our understanding is that “Paper comes from trees while cutting trees make forest animal homeless. Hence we need to create sustainable forests to make sure those animals can live properly. That’s why those paper animal are alive in video”. Not sure is that the right explanation for the commercial. But if you only enjoy it purely like a stop motion animation, it is pretty awesome. Birds, dogs, kangaroos, frogs, etc, those tissue animals are such vividly alive in the video. And this year, “The Bear & the Hare” is another wonderful tear-jerker/heartwarming animated film. It is about a bear who had never seen Christmas. As autumn winds turn to winter snow, the bear begins his annual retreat into hibernation to sleep his way through the best part of the year. The festive spirit is strong though, and his friend the hare is determined to give him a gift he has never received before – Christmas.
