If you ever wonder how interior designer will design their own place, you will find out a perfect example in today’s post. This extremely eclectic and elegant apartment located in London is the home of interior designer Danielle Moudaber. The apartment was designed, as she says, to ‘‘sooth her soul’’ and remind her of the endless blue of the Mediterranean as seen from a seaside terrace. Indeed, whilst the apartment evokes the openness and light of the Mediterranean, at the same time it is so rich in detail that is also like an enormous live-in artwork.
Located in Rome, Italy, this contemporary apartment was designed by Brain Factory – Architecture & Design. Browser through the photos below, you will find an obvious design feature of this apartment – full of aromatic plants. The central pillar is designed to contain rows of grass and perimeter light plays that exalt spectacularly the monolithic form. The kitchen is also the place par excellence for the pleasure of the senses, spices like basil and chilly are planted under the window. In bathroom, a grass mat in front of the tub and the plant at the corner makes you think it is a kind of spa instead of your home bathroom. Similar design is applied to another bathroom. The only difference is it use dried flower and branch instead of live one.
This highly modern footballer’s apartment was envisioned by interior design studio ARS-IDEA in the center of Lviv, a city in western Ukraine. To fit owner’s lifestyle and profession, designer changed the planning of the apartment from standard two bedroom to an open plan studio by combining living room with the kitchen and making two small closets to make as much free space without wall as possible. When comes to interior, the numbers on the chair covers in the kitchen are quite unique, which were created according to the numbers on the owner’s and his friends’ football shirts. In the bedroom, the designers placed an open-space room with the bath in the middle. There is a rotatable panel where a TV is mounted. Hence, owner can watch TV when he lay down in the bath or on the bed. There are also many unusual design element like raw concrete on the ceiling, wall height football related poster and lighting fixture.
This futuristic apartment design in Taipei, Taiwan comes with many interesting elements, including a life-sized iron man, unique book shelf wallpaper, life-sized man floor lamp, industrial photography lamp, a time-capsule elevator and many other small details. According to the designer, the house is designed with the industrial elements as its base while combining a hint of retro. The colorful designer furniture are used to accentuate the owner’s exceptional taste. The time-capsule elevator brings the two levels of the house together and adds a sense of futurism. Everything in the house was imagined around the owner’s passion for sci-fi concepts and original living needs. This might not be other’s dream house. But everyone has his own comfort zone, as long as it fits the owner’s need, it is a great design.
