Japanese Snow Monkeys Who Enjoy Bathing in Hot Spring

Jigokudani Yaenkoen as a place where the interesting the mode of life of the Japanese Macaque can be observed nearby, and as a place of Monkey’s Onsen. The monkeys live in a sanctuary at the Jigokudani Monkey Park which is at an elevation of 850 meters (2,788 feet) meaning that the ground is covered in snow for a third of the year. It’s very difficult to see them because of the mountains are very steep and forests are very profound. Thanks to the Kyoto-based photographer – Kiyoshi Ookawa who has been capturing these wonderfully intimate portraits of snow monkeys, we can enjoy these lovely creatures congregate at the hot spring or play in the snow.
