Assembled with patience, imagination, and a steady hand, artist and illustrator Helen Ahpornsiri creates below incredible delicate pressed fern illustrations from her studio in East Sussex. Using tiny bits of stems and leaves, Helen created honey bees, pheasants, magpies, spiny seahorses, weevils, moths, Totoros, and other creatures which are scarcely larger than a coin. Watch her assemble a tiny robin in time lapse below and if you like her work, you can also follow her on Instagram.
Leaf Beast is a project by Japanese artist Baku Maeda who seemingly brings dead leaves back to life and created beautifully simple animal sculptures out of them. Taking advantage of the warped shape and vein structure of dried magnolia leaves, Maeda made only minimal cuts to create each piece. Really simple yet elegant creation. We have presented you some incredible work of leaf carving or leaf folding before. But today,I will show you another amazing and sweet leave artwork… Not carving… no cutting… no folding… Just use different shapes and colors of autumn leaves and petals, together them together, then those lively mouse, owls, tiger and even peacock are jumping on the paper. Reminds me of my childhood, hunting for beautiful leaves and stones….
