When talk about polar bear, we always connect them with some snowy and icy environment and barely think about these majestic beasts in any other environments as the seasons change. Hence, when you actually see the photos of them play in flower field, you might think there is something wrong. But these are real. No matter how short the summer is in the northern aera, there is summer and there is blooms, just like the bloom in desert. When the right time comes, polar bear can also get a chance to enjoy the sunshine and blossoms. Wildlife and nature photographer Dennis Fast are lucky to witness this scene by his own eyes and generously share it with us. According to Dennis “Surrounded by bright flowers, the playful bears can be seen rolling around, napping, and poking their heads up amongst the blooms.” Take a look at below awesome photos and if you want to see more of Dennis’s work of polar bear, check out his books Princess: A Special Polar Bear, Touch the Arctic, and Wapusk: White Bear of the North.
Polar bear, the very symbol of the Arctic is one of the most popular animal among wildlife photographers. It is unique in its ability to travel in both terrestrial and marine environments. Hence you can see many photos of them playfully rolling around in the snow or going for a quick swim. However, this magnificent animal’s survival is largely dependent upon the environment. Changes in climate have altered polar bear habitat significantly in recent years, and its future is considered perilous by many. If we still want our children to see this lovely animal, we need to act now – reduce greenhouse gas emissions. We can all be part of it.
