Designed and constructed by Frank Henderson, a music student and Paul Schultz, a designer, the toybox home was created with the concept that home should be a fun place inspiring creativity while also providing peace of mind. The 140 square feet colorful home makes the most of every inch to open up space and avoid the cramped and cluttered experience usually coming with many tiny homes.

And if you ever have chance goes to the university’s dorm room in those cities, you probably will be shocked at the fact that how many students have to share a room to get the living expense down. To cope with this challenge and provide better living/studying environment for students, LYCS Architecture designed Campus Hong Kong – a brand new and affordable way through renovating 48 student apartments located in an existing hotel.

With thoughtful design, it can turn into a versatile and functional spaces that help to add a certain vibe to the space and increase the square footage of your home. You might have already seen many mezzanine bedroom designs which is one of the most common usage of mezzanine space – have more open living room area and more privacy bedroom space. However, there are some people choose to something differently with the mezzanine level. In below post, you will find levitating office, home library and even a bathroom.

Designed by Maxim Zhukov, this industrial bachelor loft have the office space levitating above the bed. A set of floating stairs lead up to the simple platform with a desk/railing oriented towards the window.

This clever carrel known as the “K Workstation” was created by Miso Soup Design as an effective solution to space-constrained studies.Incorporates Bamboo laminated plywood, the folding curved shape creates shelving and desk space within one working unit. According to its design, K Workstation could be manufactured each segments for easy fabrication process and transportation, yet it could be configured with multiple possibilities. I really like this sleek design and believe it will work perfectly as a space-efficient working space in small apartment. What do you think?
