Who never lost an umbrella? And sometimes, it is really not our fault. They just disappear from where we left them. Hence, giving umbrella a lock is not a new idea in the industry and the only thing matters is how to make the lock compact and functional. Designed by Zhang Shuo, Daishao Yun, and Wang Wen-Year, UMBRELLOCKED is an umbrella with a special handle which has an inbuilt lock (like a bicycle lock) that extends outwards and allows you to loop and secure it around any pole, railing, or piece of furniture. It comes with a combination key, so you don’t need to be worried about losing actual keys at the risk of protecting your umbrellas! Pretty clever idea! I am looking forward to see in on market.

Designed by Da Som Kim, the rotation handle umbrella has a 180-degree rotating handle which is supposed to make the use of umbrella less cumbersome. Based on the number of saw-teeth, you can rotate 180 degree and stop at any angle you want. When in usage, you can rotate the handle and make it face upward, so that you can hang your bag on it to keep your hand free and your goodies dry. When not in usage, you can adjust the handle to a desired angle so it can lean against anywhere or hang on any surface without slipping. Moreover, the round cap design make sure you can set the umbrella against anywhere, regardless of direction. It is really nice to see people put effort to improvement those ordinary object to make our life a bit easier.
If you ever ran into the situation that your umbrella was taken by someone else and it was raining badly outside, you will love the design of Lizard Umbrella. According to the designer, the Lizard Umbrella sheds its handle as a defensive mechanism against thieves. The idea behind the concept is umbrella without its handle seems broken and difficult to use so it can be protected from theft. The tip of the umbrella stem is embossed with lines that slot only into the matching handle – much like how a key only fits into its corresponding lock. Moreover, the divided handle itself is a clip handle, which means it can be kept easily on the bag stripe or somewhere so no worries about losing it. Quite considerate design, seem we don’t need to feel anxiety when we have to leave our umbrella protected.
