Every week, my phone tells me the average number of hours I spend on my mobile and sometimes, I found the number is pretty scaring. Long screen hour has become a social problem and there are so many discussions around this topic. Many people have tried to raise the awareness about this issues. Collaboration with British artist Gali May Lucas, Design Bridge has launched a topical new light sculpture – Absorbed by Light, in the heart of Amsterdam to highlight our obsession with technology and staring at screens.

The installation, which sits outside the Hermitage Amsterdam, provides an arresting commentary on “how we’re constantly drawn to the screens that illuminate our lives; yet the light that brings us information also draws us away from the tangible world.

Honestly, I feel sad when look at the sculptures because it is so true and reflect what happens everyday in our life. Can remember how many times, I saw a whole family sat in the restaurant and star at their own phones. We really should stop that especially during family time. Our life is more than a small screen!
