For the past 40 years, Japanese artist and jeweler Shinji Nakaba use pearls to create those morbid yet beautiful skull jewelry described as “wearable sculpture.” The pieces come in all shapes and sizes, but his most prolific series involves human and animal skulls carved from oyster pearls and attached to rings, necklaces, and brooches. Usually, those irregular shaped pearl doesn’t have much value in jewelry design. However, Nakaba use his magical hands give those pearls a new life. How cool it will be to have a skull bracelet like in the Halloween party.
