Treehouses aren’t just childhood hideaways anymore—they’ve become magical retreats that let people of all ages reconnect with nature. One of the most stunning examples is the Redwood Ripple Treehouse, a 500-square-foot forest canopy retreat designed by 02 Treehouse.

Founded by Dustin Feider in 2007, 02 Treehouse has been reimagining what treehouses can be for nearly two decades. Their team of designers, engineers, and craftspeople specializes in turning wild, whimsical ideas into reality. And in 2024, they unveiled one of their most ambitious projects yet: the Redwood Ripple Treehouse.

Soaring 35 feet above the ground, this spiral staircase treehouse takes inspiration from fungi and blends seamlessly into the forest. The design is anchored by laser-cut steel frames that connect directly to surrounding trees, keeping the structure rooted in nature.

The adventure begins at the base, where a spiral staircase rises like a mushroom from the forest floor. At the top, a wooden deck shaped like a ship’s hull becomes the heart of the space, perfect for gathering and taking in the view. Underneath, turquoise and blue net tunnels create a playful maze for both kids and adults.

From the main deck, suspended walkways guide you to the star of the show—the “Crystal Ball.” This glass orb treehouse glitters with color-shifting LEDs. In daylight, it’s a peaceful spot to admire the redwoods. But at night, it transforms into a glowing beacon, casting reflections that make the forest feel otherworldly.

The Redwood Ripple Treehouse isn’t just architecture—it’s an experience, a reminder that nature and imagination can come together to create pure magic.
