When you think of “vanilla,” do you think plain? Think again. In the world of design—and high-end baking—vanilla is actually incredibly complex, sourced from delicate orchids and cured to perfection. That’s exactly the vibe of Vanilla Swirl, a stunning two-bedroom apartment in Navi Mumbai designed by the talented teams at Dojo Design Studio and Prophouse.

Walking through the front door feels like stepping into a savory visual world. The designers used warm wood framing to create a portal-like entrance that immediately calms your nervous system. Once you’re inside, you’re greeted by a minimalist design that doesn’t feel cold; it feels like a hug.

The living area is wrapped in layers of ivory, cream, and taupe. My favorite part? The “shape-shifting” furniture. There’s a dining table that folds right into the wall and a Murphy bed in the guest room that transforms the space from a cozy den to a chic bedroom in seconds. It’s a masterclass in making a compact space feel like a sprawling estate.

Throughout the home, you’ll notice these gorgeous, wavy “scalloped” motifs on the walls and furniture. They mimic the flow of water and the soft edges of a vanilla orchid. Even the kitchen and bathrooms, which usually feel purely functional, have these little pops of color and floor-to-ceiling storage that keep everything looking Pinterest-perfect.

Vanilla Swirl proves that you don’t need loud colors to make a statement. Sometimes, all you need is great texture, smart storage, and a little bit of Navi Mumbai magic to create a home that truly breathes.
