Amazing collection of Albino Animals

Nature is a great designer, it always creates something special, like Albino Animals. Scientifically, pigments are the chemicals in our bodies that give us our colors. When a bird or other animal makes no pigments, the condition is called albinism, the animal being called an albino. However, personally, I still believe it is an amazing creation of nature. Here is a collection of albino animals, probably one of the cutest galleries yet. Hope you enjoy.

The animal shown here might not all albino, thanks for all those who help to correct me… but at least there is a good collection of rare white animal… hope you still enjoy.

Just so you know, your “albino dolphin” is a beluga whale, not a dolphin. Likewise, your “albino pilot whale” is not, and is an albino dolphin discovered recently off the coast of Louisiana. Just thought you should know.

The ‘real albino dolphin’ is a river dolphin (like the other person said). They are grey as babies, but turn pink as they mature (thanks go diego go!)

there is no such thing as a white albino dolphin. they turn pink because of a combination of light abosrption and reaction to salts in the ocean water.

27.  Andrew
June 29th, 2009 at 11:32 am

The Lion is photoshop product. Albino male lions have no hair on their heads, just short fur. It’s an image from Ubuntu Operational System, if you zoom you’ll see it badly cut on it’s right border. ;)

Nevertheless, incredible animals! Nice page.

Yeah, the Lion looks fake, and I am sure you have heard enough about the Beluga Whale.
I love the turtle though.
The Kangaroo has to be my favorite.

34.  Josh Robbins
June 30th, 2009 at 2:36 am

The number one thing that gives the lion away is actually the pigmentation in his eyes and nose. True albinos have no pigmentation therefore producing the pink. albinos are not white, at all. I raise albino doberman pinscher and would love to post a couple pics.

35.  Joe
June 30th, 2009 at 2:56 am

That is not an albino deer it is a fucking goat. That is not an albino crab it is naturally like that. That whale is not albino you can cleary see it is half black. How the fuck is it albino ? The other pics were cool

36.  Futz
June 30th, 2009 at 3:35 am

That’s not an albino Lion, there are white lions born because of a ressecive gene, it’s basically the same as the “spirit bears” (white black bears) of British Columbia.

37.  Someone
June 30th, 2009 at 3:43 am

the albino deer is a goat

38.  Daniel
June 30th, 2009 at 3:52 am

I might be wrong but I believe you “Albino Lion” is not a albino but just a white lion. I say this because most albinos have a redish/pink tint in their eyes but it appears to have normal blue eyes. Great collection of pictures by the way.

39.  Guyonthecouch

I just thought I would point out that the peacock may not be albino. Peacocks do also come in white. They are rare, but it happens. The Tuscon Zoo (Tuscon, Arizona) has several white peacocks in their collection.

I love the lion, even though he’s shopped. He is VERY cool looking.

My fave albino creature has to be either the turtle or the penguin.

(ps I love beluga whales. Raffi used to sing a song “Baby Beluga” LOVED that song!)

62.  Jessie

I believe the lion is not actually albino due to the black pigment of the flesh around his mouth and nose… true albino animals have pigmentless eyes and flesh which tends to look pinkish.

63.  ouzee
July 2nd, 2009 at 6:09 am

That’s not an albino dolphin. It’s a white VW Passat amphibious concept.

64.  moi
July 2nd, 2009 at 9:45 am

NOT an albino lion… cuz of the black flesh around eyes and mouth, supposed to be pinkish.

65.  Mickey

I have chosen NOT to criticize this collection of photographs because I like them. Even if they are photoshopped, a different breed of animal or are just naturally like that. Awesome pics!!!

July 3rd, 2009 at 4:37 pm

The peacock was pretty cool… the ridiculous amount of comments about the beluga whale… not so much. I sincerely hope HALF of those were not serious. Besides… nobody likes a know-it-all. *hmph*

68.  Molly

the pink dolphin is actually considered to be albino. The reason that it is pink is because of the way that the light reflects off of it. Albino dolphins are pink.

You’ve probably been told at least a million times already but albino dolphins are actually pink. Albino animals don’t have to be white. But your pictures are beautiful!

SORRY IF YOU WERE ALREADY TOLD!

Your website is really giving me some good ideas for my slide show being made for a little family night project thanks!

female peacocks are generally white

Female peacocks are called pehens and they don’t have the tails. Peacocks are called peaCOCKS for a certain reason that I wouldn’t want to explain.

Sorry for sounding like a “Smart ass” people who are getting annoyed of the info, but I have the habbit of correcting people when they make a mistak.
