Located in a house built before the Revolution in Moscow, Russia, this 55 square meters apartment is deigned by INT2 Architecture. When you look at the photo, the first comes into your eyes is the minimalist black box, which is situated in the center of the room, around the main functional area, the open plan kitchen and dining area, a bar and lounge space with leather furnishings, bio fireplace and projector as well as a bedroom with work space. This black box is also the place holds kitchen, bathroom, walkin-closet and laundry area. Besides its smart layout design, this room is filled with French neo-classical elements – white walls, high ceilings, floor-to-ceiling walls, parquet flooring, plaster cornices, wood shutters. Even though it is only 55 square meters, it has all the functions you need and still looks spacious and comfortable.
When you first see the apartment, you will notice the strong contrast between the dark and light color tone. Designed by Russian designer Natalia Akimov, this place doesn’t have that much decoration. Unpretentious and simplistic is the core principle Akimov follow to design the place. All the furniture and wall fixes are there for a reason, it wasn’t designed to impress but live. Looks like a perfect room for single or young couple.
Fingered, created by Dave Razor is a short film about fingers with a rather unexpected ending. Shot on a Nikon D7000 on a green screen and edited in After Effects, Dave successfully created this little creepy movement full of fingers and bizarre sounds. Not quite sure what the artist try to express. But it is still amazing by looking at the video itself.
Weird Beauty is a striking series of portraits made by Russian photographer Alexander Khokhlov and makeup artist Valeriya Kutsan. Instead of using any with material like paper, female face is applied as canvas for creating black and white illustrations. The well designed face art, combined with simple and elegant female faces, presents viewers with a complex optical illusion of positive and negative space. The patterns can be simple or intricate, but the result is always stunning. Great Work!
