Meet KASPAR the wooden squirrel, a small but clever design object that’s only complete once you get involved. Designed by aequo.design, KASPAR comes without a tail on purpose. Instead, you’re invited to head outside, take a walk, and pick up a branch to finish the piece yourself.

That simple act is what makes KASPAR so charming. The branch you find becomes part of the object, turning a casual moment in nature into a quiet design decision. Over time, your chosen branch will age naturally, slowly shifting color and texture, making your squirrel feel even more personal.

KASPAR is part of aequo.design’s animal branché collection—a fun French phrase that means both “connected” and “on trend.” Made from locally sourced softwood from the Northern Vosges Mountains and produced in the Bitcherland region, this wooden design object is deeply tied to its surroundings. It even nods to seasonal habits, like rethinking what happens to tree branches after the holidays.

What I really love about KASPAR the wooden squirrel is how effortlessly it blends play, craft, and sustainability. It doesn’t shout about eco-design—it just gently invites you to slow down, notice your environment, and take part.

Developed under the MAGIQUEB!TCHLERLAND label, KASPAR also celebrates local craftsmanship and forest-inspired design. It’s a tiny squirrel with a big idea: good design can be thoughtful, local, and fun—all at the same time. 🌲🐿️
