In my country, there is a song called “The most romantic things I can think about”. Its lyrics is really touching and I still remembered it after 20 years. If you translate it into English, it reads something close to below.
“I can think of the most romantic things.
Just grow old with you.
Until we are old, we can’t go anywhere.
You still treat me as a treasure in your hand.”
For me, it is so hard to grow old with someone, considering the high divorce rate these days. Hence, I can totally understand how precious is to have someone always accompanying you. London-based photographer Sujata Setia(founder of butnaturalphotography.com) seems have the same feeling and in her recent works, she put her focus on elderly couples.
In her series, titled Elderlies, Setia captures the “pure and honest” love shared by pairs of aging partners. In order to offer an authentic glimpse of these relationships, Setia only opts to photograph real-life couples. By exploring elderly couple’s romantic relationships, Setia just wants to remind us “love is hidden in the moments that we sometimes forget to relive!”
