Those alien forest are not from some scientific movie, they are beneath our feet – but are rarely seen. Found in a wide variety of colors, more than 900 species of slime mold occur all over the world. And below are some unusual species found by Moscow based geologist Valeriya Zvereva who spent months documenting the common life forms. Using a special macro lens, Zvereva take vibrant and up-close shots, which show off the organisms’ unlikely beauty.
