Still remember our previous post about how Audi’s commissioned photographer, Felix Hernandez Rodriguez, used scale model and miniature scene to make spectacular commercial photos? Apparently, Rodriguez is not the only one uses that trick. Or maybe that is some kind of standard for those photographers to shoot outdoor related photos. Vatsal Kataria, another commercial still life photographer also shared us a lot of behind scenes stories of how to create fancy looking photos. According to him, “I do not use any expensive ready to use props and dioramas. I make all the stuff I use in a set of the very minimum resources. I usually use plaster of parts to create mountains or rocks and some old paper to give basic shape of hills. I mainly used polystyrene sheets and mixture of plaster and black paint to make roads.”.

Not sure about you, by looking at these images, it somehow make me a bit sad/disappointed. It somehow ruins all my imagination and expectations.
