The people on the Scottish island of Unst – all 614 of them – take great pride in decorating the stop. It started with a sofa and a table and now has a TV, art and even curtains.

The Bus Shelter has had a long and highly decorated history including winning the award of Best Bus Shelter in Britain (Buses Monthly Magazine) and becoming one of the most visited tourist attractions in Shetland, recording thousands of names in the visitors book.

We all know how buses take ages to turn up, but if more stops were like the ones presented in this post, the wait would at least be comfortable. They just made me smile. I am really looking forward to visit that lovely island.
