How steel mural can be alive? Yeah, they should not. But Sculptor Frank Plant managed to make that happen in his latest project “Grow“. The whole mural depicts the situation that two groups of students engaged in casual conversation. There are nothing really special of these sculptural drawings until the artist installs some live plants as stand-ins for the students’ hair. The public work was created for Wageningen University in the Netherlands, a top university for agricultural and earth sciences. I guess that is the reason why artist tries to incorporate living plant in his work, expressing the university’s dedication to promoting a deeper understanding of our biosphere while educating the environmental stewards of tomorrow.
