Amazing Photo-Realistic Wildlife Scratchboard
Cristina Penescu‘s animal artwork looks so realistic, it’s really easy to mistake them for photographs. What’s even more unbelievable is that she is self-educated and has no formal training. She enjoys painting a wide variety of wildlife subjects, especially wolves, hold a special place in her heart and have been a recurring theme in her art since childhood. Her artwork is very detail oriented and she aims to bring the viewer an up close, intimate look at nature.
If you bothered to check, these aren’t paintings or drawings. They are scratchboard artworks. If you actually read the information on her website, you would’ve seen it. “Scratchboard is a unique artform where the image is engraved directly into the board.”
