The World First Kinetic Steampunk Bar

Enigma Café, the first kinetic steampunk pub is literally making history with its kinetic sculptures and sparked quite a share craze online after first appearing on the Facebook page. Designed by Romanian based designers Alexandru Tohotan and Zoltan Zelenyak, this place is full of wonders – dozens of finely designed steampunk details, rotating wheels, metallic flowers opening up on the ceiling, a live moving bird, a giant moving clock and even a robot. The works took almost two years to come to life, but the efforts are well worthwhile, offering an unparalleled experience for having your regular cup of coffee at a bar.

Check the video at the bottom to take a peek inside, and if you have chance, you can visit it at Enigma at Iuliu Maniu, Nr 12, Cluj-Napoca, Romania. Photos by Zoly Zelenyak from The 6th-Sense Interiors.

Stunning Hand Crafted Steampunk Costumes by Alexander Schlesier

These are not pictures from sci-fi movies, these amazing costumes are actually hand made by Alexander Schlesier in his spare-time. Without any commercial purpose, these stunning looking steampunk works were created only because of Alexander’s passion. Using only authentic materials, such as old leather, steel, brass, copper, wood and glass, Alexander made these steampuck costumes with screws instead of glue. Since there are no plastic parts inside, sometimes the costumes are pretty heavy, like the below one which weight almost 90lbs!

Songbirds: Beautiful Steampunk Sculptures

The vintage bird collection “songbirds“, designed by Jim Mullan and his wife Tori, was inspired by his fascination with birds and antique objects. Jim begins by hand painting each bird and then adds a variety of vintage pieces when creating his sculptures. The unusual relic’s he uses, such as, croquet balls, binoculars and old toys give each inspiring bird his own personality. Objects that were cast aside as useless are used in his designs to demonstrate the fragile balance between nature and industry. These sculptures give life to the once beyond pieces of yesterday. Take a look at those cute birds and you can find more here.
