Amazing Installation: When Shoelaces Grow Like Grass

Dominic Wilcox is an artist who create magic things out of boring and uninteresting everyday objects. In his last project “Field”, he took 700 eco-friendly shoes and turned their shoelaces into what looks like growing grass. The project aims to breath life into the simple, inanimate shoe, making a connection with nature while referencing the lives of the absent owners. The shoe laces rise up into the air as though growing towards the light creating a field of green on a bed of earth.

Below are some images of the making of the fields. 1.3 kilometres of brass wire, 2100 shoe laces are 700 shoes were used. Honestly, that is really impressive and one of those most meaningful installation I’ve ever seen. [source]
