We have always enjoyed coffee but didn’t pay any attention to its polystyrene coffee cup; and just simplily threw it into the trash. However, Malaysian artist Cheeming Boey, a obsessive doodler decided to use the foam surface as a miniature canvas. Using marker pens(usually black only), Boey draws intricate and detailed artworks on the exterior of various coffee cups. The work isn’t easy — the ink bleeds, lines often smudge, the curve presents a challenge — but the result is undeniably stunning. This project started since 2009 and so far, he has more than 300 designs, from scenes of everyday life to depictions of mythical creatures. You can see the whole collection on flickr.
