Sandwichbike bicycle by Dutch designer Basten Leijh is an interesting bicycle made of two wooden panels which was inspired by the concept of flat packing and home assembly. To make it a build-it-yourself product, Basten Leijh use two weather coated frames of layered plywood to replace the welded frame. Bonded together by ‘smart cylinders’, the frames and components become a durable rock-solid piece of technology. The Sandwichbike fits in a small, flat package, so it can be delivered by post. Just like IKEA furniture, the package also includes tools you need to assemble the bike. Pretty cool!
