How much would you like to pay for a bowl? No matter what number comes into your mind, I bet it shouldn’t be 1500 USD. I am not kidding and that is the lowest price for this series of animal bowls made by Dutch designer Hella Jongerius.

Starting in 2004, she partnered with the porcelain manufacturing company Nymphenburg, designed this series which was produced as a celebration of the animal collection for Nymphenburg and incorporates 3D creatures within the simple glazed bowls. Frog, hippo, snail, bird, deer or fox, these animals look as if they have been temporarily and calmly placed upon the delicate bowls. These are really pretty bowls but I bet no one will eat anything with them.
