As always with design, it’s changing monthly and yearly. But there are some trends, like home design trends that can usually be around for longer than others, so it can be difficult to predict what some of the main trends are going to be for the future. But that doesn’t mean we can’t try and forecast!
Trends can come and go, and there are some home design trends that remain classic for all seasons but if you want to be up to date with the new, upcoming trends, then we will cover a few in this article.
Bringing the outside, in
Because of the increased number of us who are now working from home on a much more frequent basis, it became apparent that one of the things that is missing from our homes is fresh air. One of the best ways to introduce this to our homes is through adding more greenery. Not only does it brighten up the room, but it has been proven that they help improve happiness and reduce the stress.
Converting cellars/lofts to your design
This has always been one of the more popular options that a lot of people do consider when they first start to change the design of their home. But it’s not as easy as it seems. You want to ensure that whatever you create is going to stand the test of time!
Not only that, but you may need to potentially look at getting external help through contractors or architects, depending on how much change is required in your home. If you do need to change the general structure of your home, make sure you do the necessary research to find contractors or architects that have a strong reputation in their field. If you don’t, there the chance of poor work and only increasing the chance of professional negligence occurring.
Maximising natural light
Not only is increasing the greenery in your home an area of design trends that is expected to continue from this year into the next, but another trend that others are trying to achieve in their own home is through maximising the natural light they have access to. People can use little tricks to increase the natural light in their home through making use of reflective surfaces! Not only does it help brighten up the room, but it also helps improve the mood and provides us that all important vitamin D.
Curves are in
Arcs and anything round are absolutely in and is expected to be in for quite some time. More people are making use of furniture or trinkets in their home that have much more of a flowing/curve shape rather than the rigid shapes we’ve been used to in the previous decades. If this is something that interests you, you could look at even changing the most basic things!
These are just a few of the expected home design trends coming in later 2022 and into 2023. Some of these changes are quick and easy to make, whereas some will require a little preparation and planning.
